shifter rebuild

I've got all the parts from the dealer sans one bushing but I figured I'd go ahead and do most of the work anyways. The smaller insulator boot that actually bolts to the transmission with 3 bolts... I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the new one on. It wont fit over the large pivot ball, it wont fit over the shifter shaft either. I tried twisting off the shaft but it won budge.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
~Kris

Nevermind, I just lubed it up with some KY and slowely forced it over the shaft.

Consider my shifter rebuilt.
