Shift **** stuck?

Hey rx7ers, am I missing something here? **** is twist off? I read that the fc may have a lock on theirs. Do the fd's have a lock? My **** is not budging. Quite puzzled.

Stock ****? If so there is no lock, try using both hands and turn counter-clock wise, if that doesn't work. Wrap the sucker with a towel, or put a bunch of rubber bands to get more leverage.

When I bought this roller this shifter/**** was dangling from the boot, guess when they pulled the engine/trans they couldnt get it off either. At least I know theres no lock, Time to throw it in a vice grip and use rubberbands, I completely forgot about that trick.

a pipe wrench against the shaft also works well, a previous owner had used a momo shift **** that had three locking screws that screwed into the shifter's threads and messed up the threads. My subsequent shift **** was super tight until i finally cleaned up the threads with a thread file
