shaking motor

i just got a rebuilt street port and my engine is shaking back and forth at idle causing the car to rock back and forth. Anyone else have this feeling. Someone took a look and said it was not normal. He said maybe it was tuning problems.

Also i noticed the top plastic of the left motor mount was cracked. What is the plastic for? Looks like the steel part of the mount is ok though. I got to go underneath and check. Can you tighten the motor mount from underneath? thanks.

That def. sounds like a motor mount issue.

I have the same thing happening as well. About 2000 kilometers
on the rebuild. It only shakes after a minute or so withen start-up. Then after a few minutes of driving it idles nicely.
But I want to know why mine shakes when cold too. Only after a minute of being started.
My engine rebuilder said 12 in./hg of vacuum was normal as well.
I also took it out to the track and only got 109 mph thru the traps.
Is this engine in need of more miles put on it before I get the Maximun HP Or is this about all the HP I will have?
any suggestions as well? or replies? jc

The crappy rebuild job, or motor mounts.

The engine if you replace some parts but
not the others it can make it out of balance..

Yeah, mine shakes a good bit from idle to just over 1000 rpm. The motor mounts have been said to allow more engine movement as they acquire more miles. I ordered a torque brace for mine and I'll be putting it in tonight if the mail room at my appartment gets their **** together. Its the one Jason sells at the store, so I'm expecting some additional vibrations at idle since its not the shock type brace that Feed makes. Should be better than nothing though.
