I read somewhere that there is a size difference in the oil injection ports.... something to do with reducing the amount of oil needing to be injected, whilst making that amount distribute more evenly.... guess that means that rotor housings are different.

Oil injectors were reduced in size and grommets inserted into the ports to effect that change ^^^....along with an alteration of the pump. The actual brass injector opening into the housing looks like it is press in rather than screw in, which appears to be the only physical change in that area.

Going off part numbers, the housings went N3A1 > N3G1 into the early production and then superceded by N3Y2.....so a whole host of minor changes in production, some you'd be hard pressed to notice, is my guess.

sorry to bump an old thread....but i want to rebuild my motor in the near future and i want to use brand new rotor housings...i can get series6 housings easily but would this be able to work with the other series8 parts?...would the slight alterations in the hosings mean that i would have to change other parts to make them work?
