Selling my car-how much should i ask?
Hey all, Im selling my fd. yes, yes, i know, but i just got laid off and i think i just need something more reliable right now. (im 18 and in college) it was a fun two months, but i have to let my car go:
93 touring, montego blue, tan leather, 100% stock, some rock pits on hood and sideskirts, some creases on driver side leather seat, beautiful cond otherwise. 58k miles.
i put $17, which i think is high, but i can bargain down. what do you think?
oh and, cuz i know youre interested, im going to get a wrx. 4 seats, reliable power, 4wd for rainy days (a concern of my parents), slighty better gas mileage, but still potential. and my parents hate the fd so much theyre gonna chip in some money to help me get a nice wrx. =P =P

On the west coast that car will probably go for 16-14.5K. They sell high over here. If you want a qiuck sale put it out there for 14K, I'm sure it will sale quick @ that price granted a few things(good condition interior/exterior, strong motor/ trans, good boost pattern). If u hold out you could get a good price for it. You can check how the market is on it just by going to autotrader, ebay, and recycler. See what people r asking for them and how many r selling right now. That should give you a strong indication of what you should sell it for.

Good engine, starts idles runs well, just adjusted the clutch and it feels more perfect than ever. as far as boost pattern, its the only fd ive driven (other than test drive) but as far as i know its good.
i got it for $15k 2 months ago. if someone here is interested id let it go for that, but i figure if some rich guy in the bay area would pay $16 or $17k for it, good for me. =P

I think the car is worth 15,500 I'm not sure what kind of drugs the guy above is taking with the 10-12k estimate

FD's in norcal are not that expenive. A decent FD with reasonable miles...around 86000 will go for about 10-12. This is a non-modded FD, stock. My brother bought his with only 70,000 on it for 7500, touring and perfect paint, clean title, 5spd. Craigslist in the bay area has caused prices to drop. Before you could get about 20 percent more. 17 is WAY too high. I can get a professional modded by Ricks Rotary for that much much. It may have about 10-20k more miles, but the extra 5-6 is not worth it. A guy in sacramento had his posted for 9800 with the same miles. 17 is way too far fetched!
