I'm no English expert, but last time I checked, you only need to capitalize the first letter of a sentence, and the first letter of names...

To the original poster: It sounds like you have a very nice car. If you are not in a hurry to sell it, don't put it on Ebay. I suspect that you will be able to get more for it by taking your time. The right buyer will pay $22k for your car. It is unfortunate for you that you had the misfortune to make your first post on a weekend. That's when the kids are out of school, and are allowed to use the computer

To the new poster, I'm saddened you had to suffer this nonsense. This would have never happened three years ago.

In anyway, good luck with your sale. Start at $25K, you've have rarity going for you.

Why does it matter if he drivers it or not. I have had mine since July and have on put 1k on it. I have another car that I drive all the time. I bought the car because I have allways wanted one. As for what you should ask for the car I would not take no less than 20k.

This is actually a good question...thanks for those who puts some serious answers down.

I'm currently looking for an FD...and I'm not exactly sure what the current market is like. I know a car with only 5k miles is pretty damn rare...but I think i'd almost want a car with more miles, a few mods and the knowledge that someone took good care of it and worked out any bugs.

Sometimes cars that have sat or haven't been run hard will blow up as soon as you start to thrash on it a little....5k miles...we're talking probably 1 to 2 oil changes...and some damn old oil sitting in that rig.

I'd personally pay up to 20k for it...but that's just me.

No, its well taken care of with frequent oil changes. I work out of town and don't get much of an opportunity to be at home to enjoy it. (I leave my other car to face the elements all week long at the airport). The RX-7 is my Sunday car.

I think your car sounds fantastic, especially if you're planning on letting it go for only $16-18K (which I think is a bad idea). I also think that it would quiet these doubters if you could post a few pics of the car. Exterior/interior/mileage shot/engine bay/etc.

Good luck with the sale.

No you're not Ramy, and the correct term for "names" is "proper noun".

Ramy is a med student and he really does have no life, right Ramy? And actually, his sentence is correct, only exception of too many periods on the end.

That's a big generalization there, buddy. Click on my user name, find the posts by me, and lemme know if you find more than 3 or 4 times in the past TWO YEARS that I've made a language-related correction (2 of 'em were Jim and I arguing back and forth haha). I don't like to nitpick on stuff like that, although there definitely are forum trolls who love to do that. I just thought it was annoying as hell to try and read a sentence that was incorrectly capitalized all throughout. That, and people who write run-ons with NO punctuation really make it difficult to skim through posts (or they make it real simple since ppl will mostly just skip over their posts).

Oh, and while I'm in "troll mode" as you've so astutely concluded, I thought I'd point out to you that you mispelled "to" in your post. It should read, "...but isn't there too many commas in your sentence" and the sentence, being a question, should end with a question mark (like this: ?), not an exclamation point (like this: !).

Ok, well now there are 4 or 5 times that I've commented on someone's grammar/spelling

Yea yea...wutev lol

Oh man...if you only knew lol. No life is an understatement... And the multiple periods is internet "lingo" so to speak that I've picked up. It's habit-forming haha.

Speaking of which, Gil's right, my sentence is right. Some people choose to skip commas incorrectly, yet think it's correct. What people do is often different from what is correct. And in other instances, commas can be used at your discretion - ie, they can be used, or left out, and both are correct, such as in a list, you can use or leave out the comma before the "and" at the end of the list.

Example (w/ comma): Gil is old, cranky, lonely, and ugly.
Example (w/o comma): Gil is old, cranky, lonely and ugly.

EDIT: Notice both sentences are incorrect cuz Gil's a great guy, and I know he doesn't mind me making him the center of attention for illustrative purposes

And I thought I had the rarest rx7 - I picked up mine 1 year ago with 5048 miles - it has 12000 miles now - these car are awesome and deserve to be cared for but they need to be driven, what's the point otherwise?

Nope...not yet lol. In a month I just tend to use the forum as my "break" from studying...which reminds me that I gotta go hit the books for a couple of hours And it's 12:30am right now. Man...lol

BTW, if you DO find a way to take some time off (be it that weekend or that Monday) most def. let me know. It IS a LOOONG drive tho. Maybe I can meet you half way...

Damn...I'm a dumbass. I just noticed that the grammar of the sentence is wrong too... it should be "aren't," not "isn't." (...but aren't there too many commas in your sentence?). Yea...there we go. It's correct now

I'd love to just see it in person. 5k miles. Enough said. I am in San Diego, so if I could just stop by and admire, I'd be much obliged.

please don't let it go for under 20, it's already hard enough for us to sell our normal FDs for anything more than some food stamps.

just as a point of reference, the average 3rd gen price in good condition (40-80k mi, clean, good motor) is around 15k. depending on where you live of course. seeing as how yours is beyond rare, it shouldn't be let go for any less than "very well modded, very clean" car prices, 20+.

the problem is that most mature adults with 20k these days aren't shopping for FDs any more, leaving only poor teenagers to buy them...

not that i'm telling you what to sell your car for, just giving you a tip since you seem to be a bit new to the 3rd gen economy report. ask high, entertain reasonable offers at your discretion.
