Secondary turbos got a mind of its own
my secondary turbo is acting wierd as hell
if i run through my power band from idle to redline, it will not come in
most of the time, when i am shifting through gears, it will not come in
then sometimes i can get it to engage by, downshifting from 5th to 4th or from 4th to 3rd and holding the revs at about 4k-4500k for about 2 or 3 seconds...then it will come in and hit it to redline
i dont get it...obviously its got something to do with the rats nest, i bought the silicon hose kit and new check valves and will be installing that, the motor is stock and has never been rebuilt, its the same way it has been since '94...are there any solenoids in particular or anything that i should be replacing?
has this happened to anyone before?

Read, read read. From your description, the most obvious that comes to mind is the TCA is not getting (most likely pressure, but could be vacuum, or both). Start with check valves and vacuum/pressure line leaks, then solenoids, then actuators. But first read the turbo trouble shooting information (in the FAQs I think) so you will know what should be happening and how to look for problems.

Get rid of that rats nest, and simplify that vaccum routing, i only have 10 hoses in my setup and it's still sequential...
Check valves, solenoids, actuators, go through all of them...

what's your boost pattern?
how are you controlling boost?
did you go thru the troubleshooting guide? http://autosportracetech.com/RX-7/Tu...leshooting.htm
I'd bet your problem has to do with the turbo control actuator, charge control, or charge relief.
