Secondary Top Feed Rail Install w/ Stock Parts
Installed my KDR secondary rail on Sat.
Only difference is I wanted to retain the stock fuel system.
Forgive me for my dirty engine bay - My car was painted and has not been washed since.
I'm using the standard 1600cc injectors.
Few reason I wanted to do this is.
1.) Space - The stock is very compact.
2.) Price - Can't beat free
3.) I believe they did a good job in the design (hard lines over the engine)
4.) If i need to upgrade to 850cc primary it's very easy (mod primary rail).
5.) Reduces complexity.
6.) Maintain Pulsation dampener
For parts you only need-
S4/S5 Fuel pressure regulator
two adaptors for the rail (got mine at menards).
The adapter is the only tricky part.
Things to consider
1.) Don't use teflon tape (I used sealant designed for fuel on the adapter to rail)
2.) Watch impedances - (i'm using haltech so doesn't matter in my case)
3.) Use crush washers/o-rings when necessary (the s4/5 FPR uses a O-ring).
4.) Over loading stock FPR with big fuel pump (I'm using supra pump and checked pressure @ 42psi base - I have no problems)
Interesting enough the car idles better now. Perhaps my S6 FPR was being overloaded prior to this.

I use a teflon tape that is fuel safe. I've used the sealant stuff before but the teflon tape seems to hold better IMO, I've had leaks with the other stuff after a few days.
The stock FPD is known to fail and cause fires (something to keep in mind). My stock one was still holding fine, but I went with an aeromotive FPR when I changed out my secondary rail. The aeromotive has a FPD built in. I also like being able to manually set my pressure.
What ECU are you running?

do you need a block off plate for this install? im looking in my bay and theres this huge brick thingy with all these vacuum lines on it and it looks like that interferes with the secondary rails.. and if i take that off i assume theres going to be a hole on the inner side of the LIM... any assistance? am i gonna have problems since i still have my rats nesT?

I'm pretty sure his rails have been used with the stock systems. You definitely have a lot more work ahead of you to be dealing with the rats nest. I'm single turbo with no emissions so all that crap is gone. Email Keith, or do some searching, I unfortunately don't know the answer to this one.
EDIT: just saw the pic you posted in the other thread, I'm pretty sure you're referring to the ACV, pull it off and use it as a pattern to make a block off plate from aluminum. You won't need it if you aren't running the air pump.

Doubt it would fit.
