I don't think you will have to worry about a lot of preperation for storing you car. I would recommend checking on the car and starting it every so often just to keep things from from sticking. If you don't, however, you might want to check into using a gas stabilizer so the fuel won't crystalize in the fuel lines and/or generally go bad over time. I would clean it up from top to bottom and then throw a cover on it. Climate control is one of the best preservatives, so if you have a heated garage, that's all the better. Heat has kept my stock S0-1s with 10k miles on them from dry rotting thus far.

Good luck.

Isn't the winter time the best time to work on your car?

It is for me at least... I should have bought it in the summer..heh.

Oh well..by the time the sun shines in Tacoma, I should have a pretty awesome ride. Can't wait to get started on her!!!

Taking it for a spin once a month for a minimum of 30 minutes is all you need to do. Besides that, do all of your general maintenance items now and you'll be good to go in the spring. Trickle charge the battery with a quality load sensing charger - about $40.00. Check tire pressure monthly and before driving every month. Keep the gas tank full to the neck.

NEVER start you engine out of storage without completely warming the engine up by driving it.

Long term storage requires a lot more prep.
