From Scratch Build
From Scratch Build
Hey Guys,
I pretty much stole the 1993 FD I have.
Body is straight, interior is good, engine is... Well it was inside the car, but not in the engine bay.
I picked up the car from a buddy who was PCSing and needed to get rid of it. Paid $2,500 came with 2 motors, Apexi stand alone and a brand new set of gauges.
Here is my dilemma.
I purchased the rebuild kit for it, just finished the last rotor rebuild and will be sealing the engine back up this weekend.
I don't know how anything else goes on this car. I have everything, A/C pump, power steering, alternator, everything, but no clue how it goes on the engine. I tink i can slowly figure it out, but I was hoping to get her running fairly quickly.
Does anyone have any info they can share on the order of installing everything?
I've been a mechanic for 12 years, just diesel motors though. This is my first jump in to the rotary business.
thanks for any replies!
Joe

You will be able to find out a lot from just looking at pics of engine bays, this is what I did with mine.
Look at people build threads and do some research on the actual engine.

Get the shop manual, it shows in steps how to tear down and build up all the external engine components. I would also check out some of the DVD's out there, Bruce Turrentine's video on pulling and re-installing an engine will show a lot of it -
