Saving a FD.

Came across a deal I couldnt pass up the other day. Didnt plan on buying it but I couldnt pass it up. It is a 93 MB Base model, with a title, complete suspension, brakes steering, r1 hatch, rear bumper and a few other goodies. As you can see it has some rear quarter damage, but conveniently came with a silver rear clip to repair it. Havnt really decided what I will be building the car for but it will be a dedicated track car. Here are a few pics of it and the clip and a shot of it in the back on my truck. Let me say it was one hell of a trip and alot of fun to load and unload. Got some other project ahead of it but it will have its day.

But if you ever want to see someone stressed out. Imagine me and 2 other averaged sized guys trying to load the clip in my truck at 3:30am in 15 degree weather afer 3 hours of cutting and loading the rolling chassis. Then after a 8 hour drive there and 7 more home. Let me tell you it was one yell of a trip and well worth it. Hope you guys like the pics.

Thanks man, I have all the time in the world to finish it so its all good. No plans for interior, heat, or anything else. So I wont be rounding up parts for the rest of my life. Just need to fix the quarter and start the cage.

Looks like a lot of the work of converting it to a track car has been done for you... Good luck on the build.

Hope all goes smoothly. I have nothing but respect for those who take on a project such as this. Track Cars (IMHO) are a huge part of the FD spirit. Even if it is not street-legal, It is still amazing!

Best of Fun to you!

Thanks guys for all the comments. I love the exhaust on the truck to. It is actually all a factory installed package from Regency. Came with JBA headers exhaust, some aero, different interior, 14" Baer brakes all the way around and 20" Foose rims. It is also a 5-spd, I love it and it has been working hard the last few weeks.

For me the FD was a great deal sense I am planning on carbon doors, fenders, hood and hatch anyway. So it works out pretty good and your right it does make my job is a little easier sense the interior is already removed . As for the price I ended up picking it up for $700 and that is with the rear clip

The car will be setup for the track but it will still see some street time cause that is always fun. Its works out good to sense I am building another 93 MB FD for a daily driver lol.

As far as progress I will deffinently keep you guys informed. Maybe in 5 years I wil have all my projects finished up lol. But currently I am at school in Penn and both FD's are home in Mass. They will be finished up when I am done with school in june. I cant wait to get started on them and would have loved to use one of them for my school project but I am already in the middle of gutting, caging and mouting a fuel cell in a Z32.

$700!

No wonder you couldn't pass that up! I dream of finding a 'junked' RX7 that I buy for super-cheap!
