SAD DAY - sold my FD today :(
Well, after about a month or so I sold my FD today. The guy drove down from NY this weekend with his wife and took the car through the gears (he scared the $hit out of me) and was very impressed with the low-end torue that other FDs he's driven has lacked. He was very impressed with the stock touring suspension at how tight is was even compared to R models. He's owned a 480 rwhp 00 Viper GTS and plans on using my car for track events and autocrossing so I know my car will be in good hands. Anyway, it was great knowing you all. The last time I drove my FD I destroyed an EVO 8 by 7-8 cars which makes my car totally undeafeted . The BNR twins totally rock and hope more people go with these turbos. I wanted to push these babies to 17-18 psi but never got a chance to get decent tuning for that.
I'll check back here once in a while to see what's going on and whether you guys are behaving. Good luck with your FDs and keep hawking down those V8s with our little rotary. Thanks for everything..I've learned a wealth of knowledge for the few years I've been on here. Take care,
Barry

Thats just a sad story But I'm glad the car will be in good hands. Did you introduce the new owner to this forum? Maybe we can teach him what you have learned, and he'll be able to push 17psi.
Good luck in florida, go say hi to Pettit, get yourself another someday.

no more FDs for me. Time to live a simple life with a simple car - no more huge KDR bills. Florida, here I come...oh and watch out for my FD in Rochester, NY - the guy plans on taking the weight down to around 2600 lbs - should be awesome.

Anyway, dont be a stranger. What part of FL you moving to? On your way you should stop off here in Birmingham, Al and we can get some lunch or drinks or something, it would be on me.
Everyone is right, its always sad when a good members leaves. You've been on here a long time, I hate to see you go.

I'll be moving to Melbourne, FL by the end of the year. My house is almost finished and having owned my first home for 8 years, I know my wife will want to put money into the house and pool (actually a smart investment compared to the FD ) I appreciate all of your kind comments and will definitely miss you guys and this board. My wife gets pissed at me for being on the forum late so I'll take a break for a while. But once I get settled into our house and job and I'm going to start bugging her that I'm bored and want to start another "project" - I actually think I'll go with a MKIV or MR2 Turbo for something different. But nothing will ever replace my FD. That thing friggen rocked! I ended up getting $2K more for my FD than when I bought it back in 1998.

Well, I suppose I should say hello to everyone, being the new owner of Barry's car. I almost bought an FD in early 2000 but bought a stupid BMW M Coupe instead. I sold it 11 months later. I'm glad to finally have gotten around to buying an FD. For those of you who wonder about Vipers... with a trained driver, they don't break a sweat eating RX-7s on the track. Around town, they came be a little scary as they need a lot more room than an FD.

I'm now in the same boat. I'm out of town on business, but my wife just dropped off the FD with the transport driver who is taking her to Canada.
She will meet her new owner sometime next week.
This is the first time in almost 15 years that I haven't had an RX-7 in my garage, but it was time to sell the FD. My son is almost 17 months old, and since he was born, I have rarely driven the 7, and she deserved an owner who could spend a little more time in the seat!
I'm hoping the 4th gen rumors are true, but if not, I think a 2005 RX-8 might just fill the void nicely!
Thanks to everyone on the forum who helped me out over the past year or so, and I'll check back in to see what the latest and greatest FD mods are, just in case my rotary withdrawals get too bad!
Take care,
David
here are some photos of her....

Hey Batman, I'm going to be hunting in SCCA Solo II Autocross (SM2 class) with the FD... maybe I'll convince a few more of those heavyweight owners to pick up an FD also.
