I'm a bone stock rx and my trans has went. I have a spare rx8 trans I can get from a friend for 150. Has anyone done the swap and what all mods were made for it to work.

I know the slave has to be changed over and pressure plate.
But what else, drive shaft work? Shifter hole same spot ? Will it handle a stock fd?

 

I know it's been covered in the past, can't remember the details, but basically it's not worth the hassle. Used JDM transmissions are $350-400, get one and done.

If the lower 5th doesn't bother you, a used JDM is an option. Or really be cutting edge, inventive and think out of the box...and have your transmission fixed.

 

I rebuild mine and will as long as I can get parts.
