NJ rx7 value

hey everyone

just curious to see your responses, we all know that the rx7 isnt getting any younger and day by day our cars get older and older, i was just wondering if you think the value in the RX-7 is going to go UP? or is it going to depreciate in value? i for one say that the value in our cars is going to go down due to gas prices, new technology autos and becuase or wear and tear. what are your opinons

I know the value will go up eventually. The only question is how modified is your car? Because in most cases modified cars always lose value. If you have a low mileage one that was totally original, then I'd expect the value to skyrocket.

Hopefully majority of those that are interested may realize that reliability mods should up the value, but not much you can do about it.

I dunno i own a 95 touring. hope i does go up in value though.. anyway I still think it will go up in price as the rx8 arent close to legendary or fun to drive or as beautiful as the 3rd gen rx7.. and if the new rx7 is released i still think it will be too expensive compared to the 3rd gen

I agree completely on this point. I threaten it, but I don't think I could honestly ever sell my FD. I've put way too much into it, and I've got it modified just the way I want, so I'm thinking it'll be a fixture in my stable until they start reading my will.

Rarity = desirability.
The FD is SO like the Jaguar XKE in my opinion. When the E-type went out of production in '74, one could still pick up very nice versions of this car even into the mid-'80s for less than $10K, or about twice their 'book' value.
Then...as happens often....the E-type became very desirable to have. There weren't that many of them around any more, most had succumbed to rust and non-availability of parts, etc. And suddenly the price doubled.
Then doubled again.
And again.
Now, you can't touch a decent XKE for less than $60K, and often two times that is what it takes to get a 'concourse', like new restored version.

I see something similar happening to the FD, though...so many have been riced out and thrashed it makes buyers be a little skittish.
If you have a nice looking FD, that hasn't been wrecked and is as close to stock as possible, with low miles....I predict those cars will hit the mid $50Ks within a few years.

Didnt someone say value relates to market?

And yes i think it will go up but definitely not now. When time passes and they see less and less FD's on road, value will go up because of rarity.

And i dont think ill ever sell mine, even if i hardly drive it. Unless someone offered me a ridiculous amount later on because they are soo rare, i dont think ill ever sell it.
