RX7 newb here, I have some questions...

Hey guys, I've always been a HUGE fan of the 3rd gen. RX7 the cars look amazing and have the performance to back it up, even when stock.

Now here comes my questions...first off, it's pretty darn hard to find a 3rd gen used, not to mention a nice example for a decent price, so I've moved on beyond that.

I've located one in my state that was involved in an accident, will need right front and left rear fenders replaced, as well as the nosepiece and the hood, but it had a new motor installed 20k miles ago, and it apparently wasn't damaged in the accident.

What should I look for if I go and take a look at this vehicle? Any particular problem areas, for the 1993 model year?

Also I know very little about the rotary engine -- so little in fact that if you asked me, I couldn't tell you how it works . That being said, a friend of mine told me about conversions being done at hinson supercars. I'm sure you've heard of it before, basically they put a LS1 or LS6 motor into an RX7 and you get huge N/A power and better reliability. I know the inner workings of my 4.6L V8 -- it's a cakewalk to work on, I'm just afraid that if I keep the rotary I won't be able to do any of the work myself on it and then it'll die within 30k miles

I know half the reason to get an RX7 is to have the rotary powerplant, but I'm just wary of seeing every single RX7 that I've looked at already having the motor replaced...some have had as few as 50k miles. So flame me if you must, but any opinion would be appreciated.
