RX7 a good purchase???

Hi everyone. I currently race powerboats offshore and I am looking for a car to bring to the races to cruise around in. Something different and a little more rare then your typical Mustang GT or Corvette. The RX7 3rd Generation really does appeal to me but how well does that engine hold up? The ones around here, Virginia, sell with about 20K miles on them or so. The car will be used about 2 or 3times a month for 3hr or so highway runs and then once there some local cruising around town. Will the rotary engine hold up without any severe problems? I know I need to keep the maintenance up and Peter Ferrel Super cars is here in VA along with the Mazda dealers of course. I'm not looking for a street racer, just a cruiser. Let me know of any modifications or addons that would help to make the RX7 more reliable once I bought it. Also I'd only be keeping the car for about 2years. It would be stored in a climate controlled garage for the winter/fall. Sorry for all the typing, thank you for reading though.

check the links like elmo said... if you are just cruising around and not planning on beating on it, then you could sqeak by with just a few upgrades to help the engine keep cool.
