rx7 ?

iv been reading about the rx7 and i have talked to some ppl.... iv heard both bad things about them and good things..... but i was just wondering about some things iv heard..... someone told me that almost every yr. u have to change the spark plugs ? and when u start the car up, u have to let it sit for 15 mins. to warm up ? i know u have to change the oil every 2000 miles....but i am looking into getting one.... but i tried to find out if the is has pretty high miles should i stay away from it? or doesnt it matter? i am looking at a few rx7s.... one has 94,xxx miles.... is that too high? and i know there is 2 diff. model types .... the R 1 and the touring... which is faster/better ? or are they both the same???

No you don't have to change the plugs every year. Maybe every 10k miles? Depends on what plugs you run and what your set-up is.

I let the car sit for about 5 mins before I go anywhere, then don't take it past 3krpm for the first few miles.

There are actually a couple different types of RX-7s (FD3s) The base model, Touring, PEP, PEG, R1 and R2. The R1 is the more race ready model. No sunroof, suede seats, front and rear spoilers, no cd player, stiffer suspension etc...

I would say get an FD with a rebuilt motor or a low mileage one in great condition. 94,000 miles is really high if it's on original motor and turbos. It's not just the motor you have to worrya bout. Be careful about the turbos, tranny, suspension (bushings) interior pieces...lots of stuff.

Do some extensive research before purchasing one, you will be 100 times more informed when you finally do make a purchase. Use the search button in the top right hand corner also. Just type in words or questions on certain topics and tons of info will come up. Have fun.

Yep, start with the following thread for your research:

After browsing around and reading, you'll know whether it's the car for you or not.
