RX/ oem fan, can it be turned into a push-fan?

Hi!
As topic states, can the factory OEM fans be turned into push-fans just by switching the cables around, or does the engine go full retard and crap all over itself?

PS, im in norway, temps hit low to mid 20s celcius during the summer, so its not that hot over here, so sufficient cooling is not the greatest of issues

Or, is it any way i can dismantle the fanblade from the engine and flip the blade around?

Well, after dismantling the radiator fan, i cant flip the blade around, so the last option is to cross-switch the powercables to it.
Can this be done?

Or is push-type slimline my only option then... was hoping to save some cash..

Im sure you can hook it up to push button, on my last rx7 it was rigged to continuously be on. So it shouldnt be a problem.

Hahaha Dan I saw your sig and thought it was one of those gamer sigs from COD or something and then I realized it was legit.

Edit: If you talk to Jon tell him I got his message and I'll have the receipt back today so I'll get it to him (it is in a car that was gone for the weekend).

oh, you misunderstood me

Im not talking about making it go constant power or connected to a button to turn em on. the fan-plugs have 4 wires to em, im guessing positive and negative, two speeds( low/high). Can theese be cross-moved, so the fan turns the other way and pushes the air instead of sucking it? This way, i can move the fan to the front to get more room by the engine
can this be done?

switching the polarity of the wiring would turn the fans backwards and turn them into a pusher fan.

BUT you lose about 30% efficiency trying to push air than to pull it through, this is true of any fan-on-radiator setup. so the stock fans may not be able to keep up with the demand on the cooling system depending on the mods you have done.

the shroud helps the fans direct airflow and make them efficient, pulling air and then directing it through the shroud cuts efficiency quite a bit.

Thanks, i will switch em over after reading the wiring color codes to get it right, and we`ll take it from there. At least, i can get the car started and running, and i will monitor the water temp and see if i have to get some slim performance fans.

hmmm, looking at the wiring diagram, and i suck at reading em, is my assumtions correct?

If i want to correctly switch the fan direction, i do the following:

Fan motor 1:
Y/W(F) is positive and should be cross-switched with L/0(F) ground
R/Y(F) is positive and should be cross-switched with B(F)

Fan motor 2:
Y/W(F) is positive and should be cross-switched with L/0(F) ground
W(F) is positive and should be cross-switched with B(F)

In cross-switching, i mean cut the wires and add pin-connectors, all on the fan-side of the plug.

the fan blades will be contoured (shaped/curved) the wrong way to push air even if they were to spin backwards.

the solid black wire is ground, the yellow/white wire should be the low speed circuit. so if you want to reverse the direction you would need to apply power to the black wire and ground the yellow/white wires.

high speed appears to be the red/yellow wire for fan #1 and solid white for fan #2.

test that configuration for low speed first, then if you want to try the high speed circuit it would be the above 2 wires for ground and the blue/orange wires for battery power.

keep a fuse inline in your power feed to prevent cooking the fan in case you find those configurations wrong.
