Actually, they are factory irridium plugs in the same heat range as the stock FD plugs. They're just expensive, and that's why Rx-8 guys run the BUR7EQ/BUR9EQ plugs. I think the ones you would be looking for are the RE9B-T or maybe it was just RE9B. Otherwise you could go for the BR10EIX irridium plugs which are about as expensive as the BUR9EQ, but they need a special thin socket to install.

my buddy just put new plugs on his 8, the ones you are talking about, and he spent over $100 on them. Seems like you could buy better plugs for that price maybe even cheaper.
