rx-8 rotor!

wow, the rotor in the renesis engine is damn cool looking, + its 14% lighter, think its possible to throw one in the fd

I think the lighter wieght is one reason for the lower torque.

the picture you see with all of the fins in the rotor, is a cutaway of the rotor. every rotor mazda has ever made looks like that if you cut it open. http://www.mazdatrix.com/faq/cutaways.htm
however since the renisis rotor is lighter they probably made the casting thinner (this is what they have done in the past for 86 and again for 89)

the question you want to ask is:
if the rotor is thinner will it stand up to the higher combustion pressure in a turbos charged application??http://www.mazdatrix.com/faq/boost.htm

I think the compression ratio (10:1?)will be too high for a turbo rotary.
