It hasn't changed much, if any in the five years since I bought my car. Probably just a little lower would be my guess.

The market for FDs in only 3 years will probably be the same as it is now. The only FDs that fetch a premium now and ever are pristine, stock/near stock, low mileage examples.

Let me guess - you're some high school candy *** looking to get your driver's license in 3 years and want to know whether you can afford it or not?

I think it will be higher as more are retired and the remaining ones become more rare. I also believe that potential buyers are learning more and understanding more about the reliability issues that have scared people off in the past, and that'll help them sort through it, and not overpay, and then maintain a reliable FD, and then prices start to come up across the board. I think this will take 5 years, though.

The value will drop a little, but not much as the major depreciation has already taken place.

I agree with some of you. If you have a car with low miles and pretty much stock then it will hold it's value and maybe even increase in value. On the other hand, if you buy one of those loud, unreliable cars out there not properly tuned then expect the value of the car to go down. Having said that, I have had two third gen RX7's and they are absolutely reliable. I keep reading people having all sorts of problems and stuff. Point being, If you buy a car, try looking for one with low miles, and pretty much stock and budget approx. 2K to reliable mods such as a new radiator, new AST, new downpipe, gauges and a new viton vacuum hoses along with complete water hose replacement. Hope this helps.

I cant imagine the prices being any more then 1-2 k less then they are now. I think these cars are pretty much right around their lowest market value price. The only way i see them losing value is with a substantial mileage increase, which actually doenst matter all that much since, most owners have to replace everything that breaks or wears down. I mean ****, my car has 90k miles on it, and its on its 4th motor. lol.

Probably some nominal depreciation. No big deal - the absolutely pristine ones will probably not fall as much.

Isn't after college when you'd be able to easily afford owning an RX7? Why would you want to sell it so bad afterwards?

Unless you are buying a Ferrari or some other exotic car, no car is an investment. Your in college now? Save your money. Get a cheap car. If your in college, you don't need a car to get women, you just need alcohol.

After college, invest your money into a nice place to live with a garage. Once you have a garage to house a nice car, then get something sporty.

god ::sighs:: this is going to put people who drift WAY down. and everyone is going to think they can do it and crash...maybe die. and then the police will say its a health hazard. and start taking people who drift to jail insted of giving us a warning for "squealing our tires". someone stop them from making this movie PLEASE!
