Thumbs up RX-7 parts auctions to benefit the Resurrection of Bubbletech!

Hi Guys and Gals,

thanks to the ideas and input of Matt Gold and David Hayes, we're going to try something in an effort to help Benny (muibubbles) and Bubbletech recover from his recent tragedy. I think that this can serve as an example of how our community can come together to help out one of our own in a time of need

Anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, please click this link. Be prepared to feel a pit in your stomach though:

Everything will be OKAY. ? Bubble Tech

Some basic rules as to how this will work, PLEASE FOLLOW THEM to make this as easy as possible.

For those who have unwanted/unneeded parts they'd like to donate and put up for bid:

Start a thread in the classifieds section and make sure you put 'To Benefit Bubbletech' in the title. You're welcome to post up a link here as well after it's approved. The thread can be in the wheel/tire section, 3rd Gen Parts FS section, etc.

This is important for sellers and buyers: ALL COMMUNICATION HAPPENS IN THE THREAD AND NOT VIA PM for these particular threads.

The seller will list parts as normal and can start the bidding at whatever level he pleases.

Members can publicly offer up a bid.

Sellers can decide when the bidding is done, within reason.

The transaction then happens as normal, with payment via Paypal etc and the part shipped out.

Good selling and buying principles still apply to these transactions, and action will be taken against those not playing by the rules.

Once the money has been donated by the seller, I'd like to see the seller post a screen shot of the donation or some other proof. In the end it's their responsibility.

I think this can really turn out to be an awesome initiative to help Benny get back on his feet. Please everyone let's make this a positive thing. Any questions feel free to post here!!

EDIT: One other thing..... Standard classifieds rules still apply, which means either 5 threads per month or put all the parts in one thread. Thanks!

This is a good idea. I know I have a ton of used parts customers have given me over the years as well as a lot of personal stuff. I'll post them up.

Thanks for getting this started! Benny is a great guy and let's get some FS threads going to benefit him. I've now got to figure out where to post up the sale of the RX8 Exedy clutch and am going to check the garage for other parts. Good spring cleaning time!

^ Awesome stuff Matt and some good action on the items from fellow members. Once I get through this weekend I am going to post up some for sale items. If anyone knows an RX8 owner looking for a brand new, in the box Exedy racing clutch, I am going to donate it to the Bubble Tech cause. Will also see what else I have in the garage.

I set one week from when I listed those item as an end date.

We've already got some decent action - so get your bids in by Thursday April 2nd!

kinda frustrating not to have a specific end time for an online auction. It would have been super easy to use the time stamps and post order for bids. are we just gonna keep bidding until you get around to ending the auction?

It'll be close.

I'm just not committing to logging in at the second the auctions end and calling it.

I'm also not going to be arbiter of a fight between people bidding after a time stamp... especially if the end result is going to be less money.

This is after all trying to raise money for charity.

Oh I totally get man, that's why I am asking. Just want to make sure I can support a crippled vendor while getting what I want.

Something as simple as "Last post to bid with a 9:30p timestamp today gets it!" would quell any argument.

Perhaps the second round of bubble tech charity items can be more explicit in details.

Also If you need a brand new part for charity auction I have some stuff that we could list. PM me if interested

I get it.

You or anyone can actually start a thread yourself if you have some stuff to clear out. That would actually be awesome!

Then you can set all your own rules!

Just start a thread with 'To Benefit Bubbletech' in the title and you're off!

First round just ended... and right on time might I add!

All high bidders have been contacted and shipping quotes are being sent out.

Looks like we're gonna raise a nice chunk of change for Bubble Tech.

Anyone else with some junk in the garage they've been staring at too long? If so, post a quick ad with [To Benefit Bubbletech] in the title and donate the proceeds to Bubble Tech!

That is awesome Matt! I've got a few items I just brought back from the garage that I will get up soon. I have 4 MSD Blaster SS coils (with a bonus extra 1 for free), a Pettit Racing pulley kit, and a professional set of ALSA Speed chrome paint (3 part kit). I need to look up pricing, but the paint kit ran around $250 if I recall correctly.

I also have the RX8 Exedy racing clutch that I need to post up on the RX8Club.com site and then link here. Should get everything up this week.

Okay, let's add to Matt's success. Three items posted up for the auction:

Pettit Racing Pulley Set. Excellent condition:
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...ch%5D-1081396/

4 MSD Blaster SS Coils with a bonus 5 coil and bracket:

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...ch%5D-1081398/

ALSA professional chrome paint kit:

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...ch%5D-1081401/

Some nice items for you to bid on. Buyer pays shipping or I can deliver if you are going to DGRR. Finally, waiting on the RX8Club.com to approve the auction of the brand new RX8 Exedy Sport Racing Clutch 10803AHD. If you know of any RX8 owners, let them know of this as it's great clutch. Brand new, still in the box.

Let's get those bids going!

I just wanted to confirm I have received Matt's generous donations!

Thanks again for everyone's support. I can't honestly say I'd still be pursuing this if it were for the generosity and support I have received from all of you.

Thank you.

Update: Pettit pulley set goes to Nakd n Fearless for $200. Nice pickup and good support for BubbleTech.

I've left open the auction thread for the MSD Blaster SS coils through today. Can't believe there is no action on those as the starting price of $100 is a steal and I have thrown in an extra coil and mounting bracket for free:

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...ch%5D-1081398/

How about someone helping out and bidding on these?
