Question RX-7 newbie questions...

I am an owner of a 93 300zx nonturbo and i want to sell it to get a turbo charged car instead. for a while i was convinced that i would buy a ZTT and nothing else, but i was wanting to gather some info on the TT rx7 and the TT supra... just to keep my options open. anyway, if someone could please answer a few of my concerns i would much appreciate it!

1) is the TT rx7 a dependable car at high mileage?
2) what are the common malfunctions that TT rx7 have?
3) is the rx7 hard/expensive to maintain?
4) what features does the TT rx7 have that make it better than the 300zx and supra??

Thank you to all that reply to my post!!

It can be. Check the car's history with a carfax and find out if it's had any problems. Look and test drive the car. Check out the links in Mahjik's post for a how-to and what-to-look-for in a test drive. It mostly boils down to how well the car has been handled by it's previous owners. Talk to the owner and see if he knows his stuff. If he seems like an assclown, then expect to have reliability issues and start repairing early. There are also a number of modifications you can do to increase reliability.

2) what are the common malfunctions that TT rx7 have?
Fuel pulsation dampener leakage.
Cooling system leakage.
Cracking AST
Overheating.
Turbo vacuum hoses cracking/ popping off.
Moron owners.
...Just to name a few. But many of these can be eliminated by preventative maintenance and reliability upgrades.

3) is the rx7 hard/expensive to maintain?
One word answer: YES. The RX-7 is a sports car, which you should already consider at least as expensive as a European girlfriend. But even as far as sports cars go, they can be more expensive than most other sports cars. The RX-7 is unique and rare to say the least. Think of it this way: On a scale from cheapest to most expensive you would go reliability mods --> stock --> performance mods --> performance mods and driving like a total *******. 'Nuff said.

4) what features does the TT rx7 have that make it better than the 300zx and supra??
Rotary, lightweight, incredible handling, and it makes you do a little dance just before you get in and take off.
