Running no cats

i just got my FD and im still working out the kinks. it sputters a lot and im getting only 6 pounds of boost. i know one of my problems are the cats because i can smell that lovely rotten egg smell every time i turn the car on. doesnt bother me but if its messing with the engine id rather just straight pipe it and let it breath. seams like all the hot air just stays in the engine area too. anyways on the cat closest to the rear theres some small piping thats welded to it and it leads somewhere into the car, do i need that? i really dont want to spend money on buying new cats so id rather do that. can anyone enlighten me on how to go about this?

Just putting on a straight pipe without a ported wastegate and a good boost controller is a no no.Thats a one way ticket to blownmotorville.

Not really, do you plan on keeping your airpump? You can ditch that too as long as you don't have to pass smog.

I have wide open exhaust and I love it!

Please avail yourself of the Search function and the FAQ thread. Running a full exhaust is actually a serious mod with an FD. Search using the terms "midpipe" and "boost creep".
