Running engine dies and won't start (restarted after 1/2 hour)
I ran into an odd problem tonight.
My 1993 FD has a street port and PFC. It's been driving normally since I bought it in 2014.
The car was driving normally at street speeds, but as I approached a red light and stopped, the revs started to drop suddenly and the car died.
I tried to start it for several minutes, but gave up after a while. You could hear the starter going after turning the key but it wouldn't catch.
My dad showed up and we pushed the car around the corner and tried jump starting it (even though the battery seemed ok – the headlights, etc. were all on though the Battery light was on in the dashboard). Same results, starter sound but no catch.
After waiting a few minutes for roadside assistance that hadn't shown up yet, I tried starting the car again and it came back (the Battery light was off on the dash after restarting the car). I was able to drive the car back to my dad's place and we'll try starting it again in the morning.
I know these kind of problems are kind of common, but does anybody have any ideas matching this pattern?

I experienced the same thing you had once, but I think my case was probably a unique one. It was a brand new HKS Twin Power (less than a year old), would fail once it heat soaked. Car wouldn't start until it cooled down again. Switched to IGN-1A, but found out during tuning that the car was losing compression, and ended up getting rebuilt...now it's a solid car.

Thanks, guys.
I'll see if the O-ring seal on the fuel pump is ok.
I was able to start the car again without a problem the morning after and drove it on the highway as usual. It might need a bit of troubleshooting to figure out what is going on.
