rubber engine mount "unglued" from metal piece?

Hey guy s when we were assembling my motor, we realized that the driver side mount was very wobbly, so we took off the metal piece thatr goes around it and the actual rubber piece... not split on the inside, or anything like that.. had separated itself from the metal bracket that attaches it to the engine. Is this a common occurance? should we just leave it be?

Thanks in advance

It is a common occurance for the driver's side mount to fail---you should definitely replace it.
