Rotary rule #1, Always check compression after checking the map sensor. Sounds like you possibly cracked an apex seal right on the corner, hopefully not, but that is what is sounds like.

Do a poor-man's compression test with a standard compression tester. Hold the schreader valve open on the tester while someone cranks the engine. you should see three even jumps of the needle. Example: one 89PSI or so and two 30PSI or so pops of the needle would indicate a failure of an apex seal ir corner seal. Make sure you pull the EGI fuse prior to perfoming the test.

Hey guys... spent my Columbus Day down at KDR in PA. The good news is that it only took about 10 mins to fix my Coolant light issue. Turned out to be a broken wire going into the wiring harness. A snip and a crimp and we we're all set.

Not so good... my engine is shot. Arg #@!!! Front rotor lost an apex seal. We're speculating, but have good reason to believe it was caused by a stuck injector... (a resized 1300cc injector that was ported by RC Engineering, from my original 850s). I've had those in the car for about 4 years... but, it's possible stuck at just the wrong time - and pop! So not cool though. There is a possibility of course that my turbo was damaged by a piece of the seal. I hope instead it's embeded in the rotor, and not my fan blades. I have 99 JDM twins on my car - and they are not easily rebuilt.

Not going to be able to get the car fixed for a while... but, I will probably have it done. The car is finally in awesome shape despite this b.s. If I were to sell - 1. Don't think I'd get much for it with the engine the way it is. 2. Don't owe anything on it (yet). 3. Wouldn't be able to afford a comparable car for the money I'd get for mine. It's truly becoming a classic. Always a head turner - and I've just sunk to much blood, sweat and tears (and $$) I think to just get rid of it now.

*sigh*... had to down a few beers tonight.

i am no expert, but i had very similar problems...and it turned out that one of my vacuum hoses was swaped with another. i didnt read all the responses but did you get a diagnostic or dye test on the hoses? it doesnt cost much, roughly 50-65$

i have no idea wat the shaking is? with boosting 14-15psi alot of problems can occur, with out the proper safty mods. maybe you are having more than one problem...

good luck, i hope you figure it out

Unfortunately, the compression test didn't come back so well. My rear rotor was making a very good 120psi max... where as the front could barely break 53psi. Not so good...

Wished it was an easy fix!

**** sorry to hear this. dont sell the car. the exterior is just beautiful. But i must say you have had some bad luck with this car over the yrs. its literally been one thing after another. I know u have spent alot of money and feeling a bit exhausted.

I hate to say this..maybe its time to go ls1? have u ever considered this? i didnt think i would ever recommend this but you have had to tough a time. its just unfair.
