Rotor Motorsports Motor mount

I just ordered rotor motorsports motor mounts, I was wondering if anyone w/ a manual fd has them and what they think of them.

Should I have gone w/ stock?

I thought they went out of business. Do you have a web site for them?

their specialty is vibration. Motor vibration from idle to about 2000rpm.
After 2000rpm, its okay, because Rotary are smooth.

Don't buy them if you want your car to vibrate. If you do search and people said that the vibration goes away, they lied.

From what I understand Poly Urathane Motor mounts are the best compromise in stiffness / vibration and breakage due to age... most motor mounts go at or somewhere around 60-80 K... if they're the original rubber ones...

I have the motor mounts. The vibration is pretty noticeable, especially at around 800-900 rpm (idle). I ended up not installing my engine torque brace because of this. It rattles the lid in the driver's side door bin. I also have an oil leak at the mount site. My mechanic says it is because stiff mounts don't seal/seat like the rubber ones. I hear new stock mounts are pretty pricey, though.

If you like you could buy some 70 shore A hardness poly.bar 75mm dia. and make your own.Don't know what hardness the rotorsport ones are but the 70A is not too stiff so should be ok, this is what i'm using anyway.
Havn't got it running yet though so can't comment on what its like.

I called mazda and they go for about 270 each. And I paid 340 for both of the rotor motorsports mounts. They are a lot cheaper.

weaklink, would you buy them again or would you go back to stock?

I beleive Mazdatrix sells them for $240ea. I am still debating the urathane since I really only need one. I would like to find out how much the Mazdaspeed ones are but I allways forget to call Mazda Comp. Supposedly they are 40 or 50% stiffer but I can't confirm that. Does anyone know the stiffness and price?

Its not Rotor Motorsports, its Rotorsports Racing. When some people hear the name Rotor Motorsports they tend to get really upset, lol

Hard to say. I don't think I paid that much for mine. I don't really notice the vibration much anymore. I made a lot of changes in a short while so it's not fair to attribute all of the vibration to the mounts. Anyone care to call BS regarding stiffer mounts causing oil leaks?

Vibration is bad. I don't know what worse. But its bad.
Basically with the stock, you get no vibration. With this polyurethane mount, you feel like you are on GoPed all the time.
The first week is the worse, vibration on all RPM below 3Krpm. After that it gets better, but still idle to about 1800rpm is where the vibration is.

The upside is:
- you don't need the tourqe brace.
- shifting is much better since the engine does not rotate/move.
- on/off throtle feel is much better since engine don't move.

If you want to daily drive and not race of any sort other than street don't do the following:
1. poly mount
2. diff bushings
3. 4/6/3 puck clutch

Well, I guess I'm gonna put them on this Saturday. I'm probably gonna have to rebuild the engine sometime soon, so if I dont like them I'll remove them.

I would just like to add the they are very great guys. They went out of their way to answer questions and get me information on stuff for my car. I will do business w/ them again.

I have Rotorsports racing Urethane mounts in my car for about 1500 miles and I think they are great. The very fist couple hundred miles they vibrated only at certain rpms, and now I dont ever feel them. I dunno if they broke inn or if I just got used too them but I know they wont break. Good price too. Its a definatle upgrade worth doing.

I have them as well. First hundred miles suck *** but with each progressive hundred it only gets better. At about 1000 they feel stock and the engine doesn't move. Brian at rotorsportsracing is a great guy he even rebuilt my engine which is still ticking strong. I drive her every other day and I put down 400+. If you need someone that knows his stuff brian is the guy.

I had some urethane mounts made, it cost me roughly $90 US for practically the same thing rotorsports are selling.

I'm sorry, but I trust Bryan at RotorSports. That shop is first rate. Granted you can get things made cheaper, but he stands behind his product and his product really doesn't need anyone to stand behind it. They are GREAT!! I fully recommend Bryan and his shop to anyone and everyone that is around.
