Rotary Extreme Secondary fuel rail fitting

I am trying to fit this today and have got a few problems.

Clearance of banjo bolt near vacuum hard pipes.

What have other people done about this. I am staying sequential. Seems like I have to remove it and run lines down to the actuators. Is this right?

Injector sealing/fitment.

The 1600cc injectors fit nicely into the rail, but when I put the rail in place, it looks like the bottom of the injector does not seal that well. I removed the old insulator and diffuser from the hole. I read on another thread to cut a bit of fuel line to make a makeshift insulator, but I am not sure where this should go, and it also sounds a bit 'unprofessional' to me. Is it ok to just fix in place or what?

SARD FPR

I recieved a SARD FPR and pressure gauge in the kit. I don't know which are the IN and OUT connections on the unit.

Apart from these niggles it's a great kit. Any help is much appreciated. I have also mailed Chuck, and will post the answers to my questions if they are not already answered. That should make the thread more useful because I have spent a long time searching through threads with useless titles, questions and no answers, and lots of people telling them to search.

Thanks

As far as seating the injectors properly, you can purchase LIM injector spacers from keith at: http://kgparts.com/diy.htm

Fitment is perfect

The diffuser just lifts out with some long nose pliers (gently!) or tweezers. You just have to take out the rubber insulator first.

I also have heard about the 'cuting legs off diffuser' method, but after staring at it I can't seem ti see how that would work.

Those spacers seem great, but I am in the UK and it sounds like a long time till I can proceed. I have emailed to find out if the ship to uk.

Is the 'cut a bit of hose' method jus putting a bit of hose in, and pushing down on it to seal?

Thanks

I have read that before I think....

About part 3, sec. 3, that looks like the piece of tube does all the sealing. When I rest the rail on the LIM, the O ring on the tip (near the pintle cap) is just touching the step inside the hole on the LIM. If I put the makeshift insulator, wouldn't that make the o-ring seal even less?

Have you got any further with this? I think I should be fitting my kit sometime this next weekend. Any more advice on this topic would be greatly appreciated

Cheers,

Paul

I strongly recommend getting the shims. IMO every top feed fuel rail kit should come with them.

Yes I have it all fitted now. I got the spacers from KGParts. Cheap and quick delivery to the UK. Keith is very helpful.

Agreed, every kit should have these included.
