Question Rotary Engine Question

I was car shopping on autotrader for rx7's and I've noticed that alot of the motors have been rebuilt at like 70 and 80k. Why is it like this? Are these engines not that reliable? Do they not last very long? Will someone fill me in on some basic information about the rotatry engine? Thanks in advance...

Octane......do searches before you just create a thread...there are tons of them about reliability....hell, even if you scroll down there are threads to how long a stock motor will last and what the reasons for them blowing are...mod...please close this thread and discard it.
