I just wanted to drop in and say how much I enjoyed your videos Damian. I'll have to admit, when you had the camera mounted outside the car, I didn't want to be anywhere near you in case it fell off but that angle is my favorite.
I was also surprised you didn't catch up to me (Camaro convertible) quicker on the front stretch. My 4,000 lb. pooch barely hits 125 going up that hill and I have to stay on the gas all the way to the first braking sign to hit that.
It was also nice to see so many people handling the passing so well. The red Nissan held about five of us up during one session, but for the most part everyone else was very good about pulling over and letting others get by. While the C group made for great videos, you and your car are probably better suited for the B or A groups. Hope to see you in the fall!

hi jim, good to hear from you.
>>I'll have to admit, when you had the camera mounted outside the car, I didn't want to be anywhere near you in case it fell off
hahahah, yeah, i could see that. the cup mounts are rated up to 75 lbs, and I triangulate for video stability, so thats like 200+ lbs of holding force for a 4 lb camera, the car body will bend before the cam would come off, so its relativly safe, but, as all things, there is an element of risk, a cup failing or somthign like that, but all 3 would have to fail for the cam to go. I was totaly prepared to take it off if the speedseekers tech or another driver objected to it simply out of respect.
>>but that angle is my favorite.
yeah, it allows for great freedom in cam angles
>>I was also surprised you didn't catch up to me
thats cuz im not that fast ;-) the car is, but im not, you probably come out of the turn to the straight better than me and carry more momentum than i do.

I agree, all passing went really well in our group. It was all very ego free, no racing to the turn or riding up on someones bumper, just easy safe passing for the most part.

Absolutly, the car alone should be in an upper group, but I decided to go C since both the car and track were new to me, I had no idea the car would be so fast and I didn't want to be holding A-B groups up while I was learning the car/track. I'll definetly register in A or B for october, probably B unless Brian can convince me otherwise (hahahaha).... it will only be my second event at RA and I try to take my time to build up to the edge rather than push it to early and make a silly mistake.
