Right Rear fender liner?

I got my car used of course and it was missing the bottom piece on the rear bumper. Now i wonder if it's missing a piece of fender liner for the right rear. The left rear (driver's side) has a small fender liner that covers the rear quarter or third of the wheel well. Is there supposed to be one on the right side too? Right now there is nothing between the wheel and the heat shield around the muffler. I'm thinking there should be a piece of plastic covering that space like on the other side. I can't really tell from the parts diagram. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks!

I thought this too, but there is no piece on the passenger (right) side of the car. I took my car to the Mazda dealer and the bodyshop manager came out and showed me in the parts books that the left side has the piece as part of the fuel filler neck protection, but the right side is "open". It just looks sort of unfinished, and actually lets quite a bit of air hit the rear valance.

Thanks! Just wondering if I was missing a piece. It does seem like there should be something there just to protect the muffler and stuff from a bit of road dirt and water.

I think this shielding was left out to prevent overheating due to the muffler in that area.
