Question Is it right for me?

First off, I hope this is the correct forum for this matter and second, hello!

I know some of these questions have been asked here before and I’ve tried my hardest to look through what I could to find the information corresponding to what I wanted to know.

I have been increasingly interested in the FD class RX-7 for the past year or so and have decided to save up for a minute recently and get one. Now I won’t get one for about 3-5 more months and I’m sure to have more questions before the time of purchase. That being said, here we go.

I want the RX-7 as a daily driver that will only be driven ~2-5 miles a day. I don’t really want to add too many performance parts seeing that it is already fast but will eventually focus on the body and interior.

The cars near where I live have about 90-100k on the frame and about 10-13k on engine rebuilds. These examples look pretty clean and haven’t been tuned (modded) in any way so they haven’t had too much stress from abuse.

Aside from gas and the occasional oil change, if I only plan to drive 50-100 miles a month how much should everything else (engine explosion, fire, body ripping apart) cost me? I’m talking about babying it, no unneeded revs, launches, racing, or towing.

And for my situation, what would be better, an auto or manual? What one is more durable in the long run?

Again, I’m sure some of the questions have been asked here and I apologize for not being able to find the answers to them. I only hope to fine the answers to these questions to join in on the bliss you guys experience every time you drive your ‘7.

Appreciate it,
Chris
