Ridding ABS of Trapped Air

Have many times bled the brakes of our '94 FD, but brake feel remains soft. Occurred to me that the ABS unit may have trapped air that will not bleed out of the system using the classical technique. Noted that the brake fluid lines at the top of the ABS unit are above the master cylinder reservoir. Is it possible that bubbles are just sitting at the top of the ABS unit and cannot be pumped down by brake pedal to the wheels? What if I unbolt the highest fluid line at the very top of the ABS assembly to check to see if there is air there? Doesn't seem like much if any fluid would be lost, but if there were an air space there, I could easily replace it with brake fluid at that point.

Any opinions on this? Thanks!

I removed the ABS unit to install the Garfinkle Torque Brace. I didn't really do anything special when bleeding my brakes after the reinstall. I do have a Motive Power Bleeder as mentioned above. I did a bleed all around with the power bleeder, then a manual bleed all around and was done.
