I'm not an FD guy but I got a wild sound setup and the project needs wiring.I was going to hook up the reverse camera but I would not mind it on all the time.
Sorry to jack the thread and any answer is appreciated.
Thanks lads.
That's what I used, yeah. I decided to do it this way so I can switch to the camera view any time I want rather than having to put it in reverse. Not that I'll necessarily want to, but I could check it while driving, or sitting at a light, whatever.

I don't feel you're jacking the thread, you're on topic for the most part lol.

Keep in mind, all head units/displays might be different.
In my case with the Android unit, the audio from the stereo gets 90% muted once the backup camera is on.

Check your setup if that's something that matters to you.
I never thought of that. I'll have to see if mine does that too. Not that it would bother me if it did, I'm just curious. I might actually like that.

Grave digging here... Same red wire at X14 for a 98' just the other side of the chassis? Only bit left to have this working right.

Thanks guys!

I ended up just tapping one of the reverse lights for a reverse 12v signal. Wasn't that big of a deal since you have to run the wire for the camera itself too.

I just did the same. There's a 4 pin connector for the reverse lights in the spare tire well..passenger side. Tap the red and you'll have power when you are in reverse.
