Rev-limiter...can it be removed?

Can you remove the Rev-limiter in our ecu's? I have the Pettit now and would like to know if it can be removed or extended to 9000 rpm.

Why? Stock our engines only pull til about 7500, power drops off after that and all you do is risk hurting the engine.

You can change the rev limit with a stand-alone like the PowerFC, Haltech, etc. I would expect that you would have to adjust the maps so that you have a map for your higher RPM range. I am not sure if a change to the ROM in a stock-style ECU would work at higher RPM because of the possibility of not having a map for the higher RPM range.
