I've been thiking about this for quite awhile, and just finally got around to asking. Does anyone know if it would be possible to take a retractable key blank from a newer mazda, (3, 6,etc) and have it cut for an rx7? obviously the trunk pop and door lock buttons wouldnt be functional I was just curious as to if id be possible to get the key to fit our ignition

 

I wondered about the same thing when I had my MazdaSpeed Miata. I think it might be possible. Best bet is to take both to a locksmith and see what they have to say.
