Retarded clutch
So here is the thing right. I've done searches and can't find anyone with my problem and I need help. My clutch is acting well.... RETARDED! I have bleed it and made sure that both sides of the reservoir were full of fluid. Both the slave and master cylinder were rebuilt not all too long ago. I also just recently did a tranny swap. So here is the retarded part, when I go to press the clutch it will work... sometimes. Sometimes I go to press it and it goes limp all of a sudden. If I pump my foot on it a couple times it usually regains pressure a little. And sometimes it has full pressure out of nowhere. I'm stumped so I bought kits to rebuild both cylinders again but have not done it yet. What do yall think?

The seals need to be in firm contact with the inside of the cylinders at all time to work reliably. What happens with worn seals or a rebuild is that the initial pressure that causes the seal to work is marginal, and sometimes the fluid will bypass the seal before it firmly contacts the cylinder wall. Other times, due to faster pedal action, or temperature differences, it will seal, and then the hydraulic pressure keeps the seal expanded, so that it works normally.
This is why the problem can be intermittent.

well I rebuilt the master cylinder and bled it with a mity-vac and it works great so I think that if it starts to act retarded like that again then I will buy a new master cylinder but so far I am good with it. thanks for feed back though.
