I welded in a 16" Borla XR-1 sportsman muffler into my midpipe ~3 years ago and it still works well.

Sounds a little louder than a high flow cat at idle and picks up under boost.

I am using a Blitz Nur spec cat back that was on the car when I bought it 2000.

Pick your choice of muffler at Jeg's or Summit and then just take the car to a muffler shop and have them weld it in.

Any DP + Rx7store resonated MP + RB Dual Tip Exaust = Perfection if you dont wana sound like rice rollin down the street.

Car at idle is quiet,
Car at cruising speeds is quiet

Car with wide open throttle is SCREEAAAAMING =P Its a nice scream though, not a canonnball, taking a dump on the highway scream.

ive been doing some research on what midpipe i should get to mate up with my Petit DP and Stock Main Cat/OEM Exhaust Muffler... but im getting mixed reviews and i read that without proper boost control or resizing of the wastegate installing a two piece Downpipe, Midpipe and aftermarket CatBack can lead to a premature Blown Motor? is this true??

My exhaust plans were to have a "DownPipe-->MidPipe--->Stock OEM Muffler or RB Dual Tip if have the extra cash" im looking for performance but with a sleeper look cause cops in my area are looking for any reason to pull you over

Yes it can be true. Mid pipe often leads to some boost creep which depending on severity and other mods may or may not blow an engine. It would be best to have a boost gauge, wideband and pfc or other ecu to tune for any elevated boost levels before installing a midpipe

It can, if you don't reintroduce exhaust restriction, which for the sake of this argument is all the resonated mp or main cat does. If you use a restrictor plate (Simply an exhaust flange with a smaller ID, I use ~2.125" to be on the safe side, but its said you can run 2.25 if not a little more) you can have the best of both worlds, and if you eventually want to get more power and port the wastegate its just a 5 min job to remove the restrictor plate. I put it between the mp and catback, no creep.

i currently have a Defi Boost Gauge installed with good readings of 10-8-10/11. but sourcing out a PFC shouldn't be too hard seen some used Apexi PFC go for $700 here. just need to be patient and save up. i was thinking of going with a Petit Resonated Midpipe. (mainly because it isnt too expensive and i know i wont have problems mating it up with the Petit DP and it wont be too loud.)
