also does anyone know which solenoids will cause the error if unpluged?

That's a tuff call. It depends on witch solenoid you are talking about, but from the ones that I have tested, 35k to 37k ohms was the average. I am not 100% sure that a broken solenoid will throw a code but I have had a bad TC solenoid which never threw a code. The EGR on Cali models will through a code from the sensor, but not the solenoid.
