resetting radio anti-theft alarm

Did a search already. Over the winter, the battery on the FD went dead. During jump-starting the car, somehow the radio interpreted the changes in voltage as three un-successful attempts to enter the radio code. Now the radio will not accept any inputs and just flashes err....err...err. The owners manual and workshop manual both say that after three unsuccessful attempts you need to take the radio to the dealer to have them re-set it. Does anyone know if there is another way to re-activate the radio?

Thanks. I know the dealer can re-set, based on the serial number of the radio, but there must be some customer-friendly way to do it. Right now the radio will not take any inputs from the keys using the normal way to reset the code. There must be another key sequence to use. Hope this works.

If I had not been in such a hurry to get the car on the road it would not be a problem. I have had the battery go dead before and have reset the codes successfully. This time I partially re-charged the battery and tried to jump start it- three times- until it had enough charge to finally start. I believe each time I tried to start it- key on, no start, key off- was interpreted as an unsuccesful attempt to enter the code. As luck would have it, the next day the battery was dead again, so I had to buy a new battery. When I installed the new battery- with full voltage now- the "code" message briefly appeared, but when I tried to input the code, it went back to flashing err.
