reply ASAP: Air pump installation question

I can't seem to connect that little chunk of 1" rubber hose between the air pump and that metal pipe that's on the lower intake manifold. Should I connect the hose first and THEN put the pump on its swivel mount?

Any experiences?

whence i once remove a pump, and re-installed it, i had to do that. i have no air pump now, and have removed and reinstalled a few, the ease of the hose fitment varies alot with th age of the car and quality of the hose....

SUCCESS!!!

I put the hose on first, and then I put the air pump on its swivel mount. It took a little more effort to wiggle the pump back in, but it worked nicely.
