Replacing Interior Harness Foam Wrap and Heather Core Seal?

If you've ever taken your interior apart, you know what I'm talking about. All of the interior wiring harnesses have foam wrapped around the connectors to keep them from rattling and making noise etc. There is also a foam seal in places around the heater core and AC ducting. At least on my car, this stuff is all deteriorating and basically crumbling into to sand. Sometimes pieces of foam would fly out of the AC ducts into my car when the AC is running.

I want to replace all of these foam pieces. Has anyone done this before, and if so what did you use? I'm having trouble finding something that looks like a good replacement. At the moment the closest thing I've found is this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...EWA:PIC&ih=001 I think it needs to be thicker though.

Any other ideas or suggestions?

EDIT: Anyone know what kind of foam is used for this? Is neoprene a good choice? Looks like I could probably get something that would work from mcmaster.com
