replacing all seals regularly

Hi, I'm wondering if you guys replace all seals regularly, whether they are worn or not? Just wondering if it's a good idea to do so so I could prevent any detonation at all.

Thanks

You can't replace the seals without fully rebuilding the engine.

So no, it's not common to rebuild on a regular schedule. It's the rebuilding that you're trying to avoid as much as detonation itself.

Also the occurrence of detonation does not hinge upon the condition of the seals. Detonation is caused by lean fuel/air under heavy load. If you want to guard against detonation, you do it in your fuel and tuning. If there is detonation, having newer/better seals will only reduce the damage, not prevent it.
