Replacement for primary turbo intake elbow

Does anyone know if there are any high performance replacements for the crappy Mazda plastic intake elbow that connects to the primary turbo? It seems like someone should have made a metal replacement for this part by now. I was removing my intake hoses today and this elbow snapped off from the turbo. I already purchased a replacement but I just wanted to check and see if anyone knew of a more heavy duty replacement for this weak link.

The HKS Racing Suction (RS) intake is all aluminum and bolts to the primary turbo. It's VERY expensive, though.

I had to replace mine recently too. $80.00 friggin' dollars for a plastic elbow with a bakelite gasket on the end of it. That's what Ray Crowe charged me anyway. Oh well, how many more times will you replace that, you know? I suspect it could be the cause of some people's boost problems though. Easy to overlook and tough to access with some intake systems.

I would just buy a couple from people who pulled their stock turbos. I'd go through a couple of used ones at $10/ea before worrying about upgrading it.

I was wondering the same thing, how hot do these get? if I can have it withstand the heat, I can make one out or Carbon Fiber? I have to check on the application. This would be useful as hell to me, what about you guys?
