Replacement Positive Battery Terminal/Clamp
The positive terminal on my car finally got so corroded and weak that it wouldn't stay on the battery post. I set out in search of a replacement just like the stock terminal, so I went straight to the Mazda parts catalog. They only sell it along with the whole fuse box for $80-something. Went to the local auto parts stores hoping it would be a generic import battery terminal, and none had anything that would work.
I recalled seeing something similar under the hood of my 370z once upon a time, so I took another look, and the part looked really, really similar. A search online led me to Nissan P/N 24340-7F000 which is *identical* to the factory terminal that was on my car. Paid $7.80 for it at the local Nissan dealer.

neat toyota also uses that thing on the trucks, not sure about price as i've never actually needed one, but its there!
actually Mazda has an Rx8 part number, F151-67-TB1, $23 list. i guess when you combine Datsun and renault you get better pricing, who knew?

Wow! Great deal!
I know you can still get the whole positive terminal from Mazda, but it's the fuse box with all the fuses and everything. I THINK it's around $60 or so, so it's not too pricey.
But, if you just need the terminal, there ya go.
Courtesy Nissan is where a lot of Nissan guys get their parts, kind of like ordering from Malloy Mazda for us.
Would be nice if there was a source for the red rubber cover, that always gets torn up and crappy.

Yeah....I looked at the RX-8 terminal first. Looks like it might work, but it is hard to eyeball the terminal to stud distance from the pictures. It is a pretty critical dimension since it sets the distance to the fuse box, and my fuse box has no breathing room as it is with the stock terminal.

Im assuming this ended up working for you?
I suspect my positive clamp is causing a power issue for me as well so im looking into options for replacement. P.O. has mine being held together by 5 or 6 washers at the moment.

My Nissan terminal has been on my car a bit over 6 months or more, I think. Works great for me!
Also just modified the stock battery box to accept an Optima red top 34R battery. That works great too

Speaking of, just found that Toyota has a similar NEGATIVE battery terminal, part number 90982-06059
The negative terminal has a different internal size (the negative terminal is a little smaller) - don't think Nissan has an equivalent.
You would have to crimp on some sort of eye terminal onto the negative battery terminal, though.
Price is around $20.
