Replacement oil cooler line

Hi all

I have leaks in one of my oil lines there the copper pipe joins to the rubber section, circled in red.
I am considering making a braided line from the oil filter pedestal to the oil cooler rather than replacing part 14-7201 from Mazda.

Does anyone have the details/specs of the fittings I need - both ends (oil filter pedestal and the oil cooler terminal itself)?

I expect the oil filter pedestal fitting is quite easy to come by but have never removed one from the oil cooler and thinking this might be a more bespoke part...

Links to parts would be great if anyone knows of them.

Thanks in advance

14-850a is the fitting between the rubber hose and the hardline. There is an O ring inside of that fitting that can get old and leak. That o ring is indicated in the breakdown. However it is NLA. I believe you can get an all new fitting from Mazda for $40 or so, or most forum members probably have some sitting around. (I've got a couple). If you want to fix it cheap, figure out what size the O ring is and replace it. If you want to fix it OEM, buy a new or low-mile used fitting. If you want to fix it with a mod for the sake of modding (probably the most expensive route) then buy some AN hose, a banjo fitting, and appropriate fittings all the way to the cooler. I don't think there are AN fittings compatible with the factory hardline.

Hi Matt

The problem is I cant just replace 14-850a as there is another leak upstream on the same pipe (also circled red in first attachment). That fitting definitely leaks but I believe it also leaks where it goes from rubber to copper again under the aircon unit.

Therefore I need to purchase a whole pipe from Mazda, or make up a custom line.

Do you know the type of fittings required at the pedestal and at the oil cooler - type/size/thread type etc?
Even if I pull them off I will have no idea what exactly they are in order to consider making a custom line up.

Thanks
