Replaced door handle and now has factory Alarm Issues...

I replaced my door handle Monday because the old one was sticking. For now I just cut the wire and bolted on the new one replaced the key cylinder with my old one. The problem I am having now is when I lock it with the key the Alarm activates with a beep which it never did before only the light would turn on. Now when I unlock it it does not turn off the alarm system and the horn start's going off and the lights start going up and down. Would this be because I did not plug the wire back in?

I had a issue this morning, I unlocked my car no alarm issue usally have to unplug the battery when the alarm goes off. So I started it let it warm up for awhile while I was inside, I got in put it in gear and the radio went out so I pushed it in and it came back on but the center speaker was cracking on and off so I unplugged the battery turned it off and tried to restart it but the battery was really low. So I used a jumper box and tried to start it but the car never started... Sorry for the long story

I have read in the workshop manual that the starter doesn't turn if the door is not opened with the key. If the wire is cut there is no way for the car to know that the door was opened by the key, it just notice that the door has been opened.

I would say, plug the cable back in.

Haven't tampered with the alarm system any myself though.

I plugged it back in and sure enough it started. The weird thing is the dam thing was starting for a couple of days with no issues. O well I guess it fixed now...

I've had this problem before! I found that the issue was the magnet on the end of the lock. It is the plastic bit that will probably break. I found a way to attach it back on and now when I unlock the door the alarm does not go off! Also if your alarm is going off from this problem you can unlock the trunk and it should turn it off! Took me a few embarrassing moments in parking lots to look up how to disable it.

good luck!
