Repairing cracked intake manifold
well a while back my uim got cracked on the flange at the corner bolt so i took it to get it welded. cost me 60 bucks for them to weld it. of course the retards , even though i specifically told them to, sanded down the gasket area to clean u p the weld but they didnt go and replane the whole surface. So i go to bolt up the uim and because that corner was slightly higher than the rest, the gap caused the lim to want to move up and it cracked. so now i have a hairline crack and a vacuum leak in the LIM. i dont want to waste 60 bucks getting it welded but i need to do something. i've read a little on aluminum soldering/brazing with just a low temp torch and some flux to keep from oxidizing right away and a zonc-aluminum solder. anyone know if this works or have any other ideas on what to do about this?
thanks

That sucks. I know how much trouble it is to pull the lower intake. I can't help you with the low temp torch method as I have never done it. I have heard it only really works if the part is level to the ground, otherwise the filler usually runs right off.

IMHO, just get a used one.
I'll sell you a couple sticks (HTS-2000) for $5 if you really want to try.
