Removing the rear wing when Dragging?

Removing the rear wing when Dragging?
i noticed in the past racers like Peter Farrell with his Silver road course car. Has removed the rear wing when drag racing.
Why? Will this produce less drag? And what kind of extra et. time or MHP will un-bolting the wing get you?
